Solve : sp 2?

Answer»

I have windows xp PRO but because I don't have a phone I am not on internet.  If I install sp 2 will I benefit from it or should I just leave it ALONE?  I also recently setup my computer to by pass log on but all my computer does is "starting windows" and that is it. It just won't start so I am trying to figure out how to change it back and if I restore as I deleted a lot of stuff to get more room I don't want all that stuff back on so could someone please try to help me.For Service Pack 2, bit's your call... SP2 does more than protect you.. It also helps Windows by making it more stable or at least it's supposed to), and some other adjustments. You can get by without it, so this is optional... As far as the other issue... Can you get into safe MODE? Last known good config?

[glb]Flame[/glb]Did you register Windows? Doesn't m$oft make it go into limited after a certain amount of boots if it isnt registered?Good observation Sean ..........

DL65  A very good observation INDEED... What's your say Nancy?

[glb]Flame[/glb]sp2 is not needed if not networked.........is its networked?By holding the shift key while loading I was able to get towelcome screen, then by-passing log-on then to desktop which I was quite glad about BUT really I shouldn't have to do this plus thanks for info about sp 2 as because I use this computer as a pc I took networking off.  I know it is optional but should I add it or not!! This computer was given to me and about registering windows how do I tell as I think it was registered under the person's name as I ahve booted numerous times.  What do yo mean by m$oft limited?  I cannot go into safe mode by holding F8 key as all I get is "stuck key" Sorry for taking so long getting back at you as I was away.more info on system. make model and......Question is the pc running ok......>>>........and has for the reg bit.......>>if its not on the net ......>.m$oft are not that good.......all my pcs run without the reg bit!.......and they are legal! options are giving when installing windows??
