Solve : sound from notebook computer?

Answer»

I have been using my laptop computer for the 2 years and i have had no probems with it. But now and its been like this for 1 month the computer makes a noise. As i understand its caused by fans. The noise starts, keeps on for 15 sec then stops for 15 sec, then comes again for 15 sec, then stops again, and its like this over and over again, all the time. The noise is quite annoying, if it was permanant like on old laptops it wouldnt maybe even be as bad as its now What could i do to make this noise not appear?

Maybe i could screw out the screws and take the bottom part of it apart, but can i do this with a laptop. Im such a not GOOD user that i dont know if may do that with a laptop

If anybody can give any hints me what to do i would be very grateful

If you wouldn't know what you are doing once you're INSIDE it's best to just leave that alone.

It could be a FAN, or  aheat sensor. WHat brand and is it still under warranty?Check out this excellent guide.

Yeah, the guide seems to give me some hope about my problem. But those "cotton swabs" mentioned there, would a clean cotton swab be counted as a "cotton swab". Or its not advisable to use a cotton cloth from the kitchen as a "cotton swab". Maybe its sth i need to buy?Cotton swab . . . cotton bud?
That's what I call them.
Like a little plastic stick with cotton on each end?
Or use a soft cloth, like a glasses cloth?Ok, ill use just the cloth for glasses.
Anyway tks for the reply and shedding light on the vague english wordI don't think it's an English word, I believe the NBR forums are American-based.
So if anything, it's an obscure American word lol.
Let US know how it goes on. Quote

So it was an American word.. I'll try to remember that (though it doesn't make a big difference for me). But ok, i'll let know how it goes on
