Any suggestions for troubleshooting LACK of sound?

Things appear to be properly connected.

We run Windows XP and our computer was recently "rebuilt". Is there something that we need to "go in" and do?Do you know if this is an add on sound card or ONBOARD ? ?

If onboard look for the drivers on your Motherboard driver CD which should have come with the machine...

If an add on card this should have also come with a driver CD...

Either way re-install the drivers and you should be good to go.

If you are unsure at all about what's in that system DLoad and run Everest Home which will TELL you exactly what components you have...run a report and save it as a text file then post the sound section info here and we can assist further.So,are your sound drivers installed properly on
your operating system?

Edit: LOL,Wish I had seen that 23 SECONDS ago patio. I need help retreiving the sound on the computer, the speaker is working but when I play game the sound does not work. What should I do?lotlot77 ..... Pleas start your own thread ,it causes nothing but confusion when your hijack the thread
