Solve : Sorting clips on a DVD?

Answer»

I have burned a SERIES of video clips, which I downloaded from my camcorder, to a DVD (in a USB format) and, although I sort the clips in date order, they are replayed in alphabetical order (of the title of each clip).
I would like them to be played in date order.
Can anyone help please?
This happens whether I play them in Windows Media player or in VLC.
Thank you. You're going to get a lot of spam if your user name is also your e-mail address.

Can you rename the clips in order as -

01 blah blah
02 something
03 something else

etc etc

If they are renamed with the date (either as the filename or at the beginning) in yyyy-mm-dd format with (if necessary) a sub number if there are some with the same date, they will sort in date order in the player's playlist.

2013-05-02-01 Disney World.xxx
2013-05-02-02 Jim gets drunk.xxx

etc

I preferred the combo track, "Jim get's Drunk at the Alligator Museum" myself.Salmon Trout .

How do you expect they can be renamed when they are now on the dvd
Make a playlist. The playlist stays on the PC and takes very little space.

With Windows Media Player 11, it's easier than ever to find and play your favorite music. Playlists are a great way to control how you use the files in your library. This article describes how to create playlists of your favorite songs.

I just checked in a mirror, and I don't have "Stupid"* tattooed on my forehead. I don't expect they can be renamed. Since DVD-R or DVD+R disks cost around US $0.35 at Wal-Mart if you buy a 100-pack, I imagine that making the compilation again by burning another disk HOLDING a set of renamed files will not exactly break the OP's bank.

* In Britain, we use a DIFFERENT, slightly shorter word in this expression, but I don't think I could use that here.
