Solve : SMPS issue? |
|
Answer» My computer, when starting makes some large sound, as if there is some friction. It stops when it reaches wondow (i.e. when BOOTUP is complete). The sound is coming from the SMPS. If i open the cover of the system unit, then also the sound stops. What is happening? shouvik..... Quote The sound is coming from the SMPS. Pehaps the bearing in the fan is wearing out ...hence the noise...or the fan blades have attracted a large amount of dust . dl65 It sounds LIKE the bearings are going bad or need to heat up a bit before they quieten down. I had a new video card that used to do that but it stopped after a few months so if it's new, give it some time. Removing the cover will only increase the load on the fan but it won't hurt it.What is an SMPS?Google & you shall learn grasshopper. Perhaps that suspect wiring in your habitat has caused other problems as well. Quote Google & you shall learn grasshopper. Wow. I signed up, posted 8000 posts and I am TOLD to use Google? I never cease to learn. |
