Solve : skype keeps rebooting my laptop?

Answer»

Hi, I have been looking for some help on the net but nothing seems to help my problem. I use Windows XP. I have been USING Skype for some time now without problems, just lately whenever I open skype a blue screen comes on saying that windows has detected a problem and needs to shut down to prevent some damage. Then it cuts me off the internet and after I close the skype the situation persists.
I tried to follow certain advice - scan computer in safe mode, do registry cleaning and malware scan, avg scan - nothing indicates a virus.
I tried to uninstall and install back skype but that did not help either. In the control panel, add and remove programmes when I wanted to uninstall Skype web features it just did not allow me.
Does anybody have a cure?
ThanksPost the entire BSOD  message including the gibberish...Excuse my limited knowledge but what is BSOD?Oh yes, I found out that BSOD is blue screen of death. But it appears only for two seconds so I cannot even read it. Is there any trick how to copy that message it SHOWS?Control Panel/System/Advanced/ UNCHECK auto restart on errors....re-boot.DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Do not use and remove system scanners and real-time protection from resident antivirus/firewall to troubleshoot the problem. Update network card adapter if there is any or try reinstalling it. There is not any network card adapter. I am a bit of a greenhorn so I am not sure what you mean by going to safemode with networking. I know how to go to safemode but I am not sure about that part with networking Quote

There is not any network card adapter
I doubt that you don't have one. It's a device that connects you on the net.
Click Start->Run->type devmgmt.msc, Ok. Look onto Network Adapter, Click plus/expand.
What is the EXACT description of your Network card?

You will find this option on the same way you booted in safemode.

Network card:
1394 Net Adapter
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
WLAN miniUSB Adapter

Next thing I am going to try is that safemode and networking. In the meantime you should DLoad and run MemTest...
Follow the instructions on creating a bootable CD...
Run it at least 2 hours.
Any errors at all then a bad stik of RAM is the culprit...This might sound a bit silly, but I did that safemode with networking and.....once I was there I did not quite know what to do there. Whether to scan or use skype...sorry for my limits. I have done that mem test (for more than 2 hours) and no error came up.Is there anything else I should do now? Quote

Before logging in to skype, try removing one peripherals connected on PC. Webcam, Headset or Mic, Speakers. See if that helps.
