Answer» The short question: When i play the sims 3 on my laptop, if I need to plug it in to charge, it says "Plugged in, not charging", but only when the sims is running, help?!
The very long question (all the details you might need to help me ) Hello, I have a question, and need a bit of help I have a 10 month old Acer Aspier 7720G Laptop, and on Monday I bought The Sims 3. All my specs are up to scratch to play it, I used to play The Sims 2 on my laptop, and uninstalled it before installing The Sims 3. I FOUND last night, that as I was playing, my laptop battery started getting low, so I plugged it in, but although the beeping (that tells me the battery is low) STOPPED, and the icon CHANGED to show it was plugged in, when I hovered over the icon it said "plugged in, not charging" I blamed this on maybe it being too hot, so I turned it off, and tried again this afternoon and it was all going swimmingly. I'd charged it a couple of times today, and every time it was fine, I turned it off while I cooked dinner, it was off and cooled down for say, two hours? When I turned it back on to charge, it was doing fine, until, I started the sims... then it said not charging again. I turned off the sims, it went back to charging. what can I do?
I'm new to all of this, so hopefully if this is in the wrong section, or you think it would be better answered in a different section, one of the admins can move it for me? Or let me know and I'll repost it somewhere else... thankyou xI'm sorry but I have never seen a game where it can influence the charging of your laptop. It may say it's not charging but have you left it with game running and then checked your battery power after say 15Min's to SEE if it's going down?I have the same problem! I dont know what to do my laptop keeps shutting down from low battery... Quote from: scinbc on June 23, 2009, 02:22:20 PM I have the same problem! Don't hijack threads, go start your own thread.Teacup, this might seem a little bit convoluted, it's really late.
Start the game running on battery. When the charge level starts to drop, plug the laptop in, and remember or write down what the charge level was. Let it sit for a bit, then turn the game off and see if the batteries charge level has changed.
Let us know the result of this.Quite possibly its running off of external power. I've noticed in both xp and vista it tends to do that regardless of it being a game or not. In all cases i've encountered that problem it automatically fixes itself.Hi, My son bought Sim3 yesterday and has played it continuously ever since on a Dell laptop running Vista.
His problem is that his laptop keeps shutting itself down......no warning....just shuts down.
Has ANYONE else experieneced this or have any advice?
Thanks
