Solve : shdoclc.dll/dnserror????

Answer»

im not sure if im posting this in the right forum but anyway..

ive recently had trouble doing anything internet RELATED on my computer. it shows up as if im on the internet, but when i go to USE my browser i get nothing. i tried internet explorer and i got 'shdoclc.dll/dnserror '. the other day me and my mom were tampering with files we shouldnt have been tampering with, which is what more than likely caused the problem. i have no idea what to do next??

HELP anyone?shdoclc.dll is a Windows System FILE and should be in the system directory.

First search for it and see that it still exists. If not you can run sfc /scannow and get it restored. You need the OS install disk for this.

Exactly how did you tamper with the files?

Hope this helps. k the file still does EXSIST. but how do i know theres not something wrong with the file..or it may not even be the shdoclc.dll file at all.

this is so frustrating You didn't exactly mention how you tampered with the files.

Run the System File Checker (sfc), if shdoclc.dll has been changed Windows will replace it.

This would be a good time to check for viruses, spyware, and the like.

Good luck. thank you very much i will look for this sfc when i return to my computer
