Solve : Setting up Blackberry with Exchange email?

Answer»

Hi guys

Sorry Im not sure where to post this (apologies if this is a repost). I was wondering if anyone can help me with getting a blackberry setup with EXCHANGE emails? We have a BES server here and added the user to it. The BES service has been activated with the service provider. When on the phone, after selecting exchange activation, entering in the email ADDRESS and activation code it seems to run for about 10 -15 minutes then returns with the error;

THE BLACKBERRY ENTERPRISE SERVER HAS NOT RESPONDED TO YOUR ACTIVATION REQUEST. AN ERROR MAY HAVE OCCURRED OR A MAIL CLENT RULE.
YOU HAVE NOT YET BEEN ADDED TO THE BLACKBERRY ENTERPRISE SERVER.

We have tried deleting the account from our BES server and rebooting the bes server but to no avail. The next steps we are going to try is security wiping the phone and TRYING again. Does anyone have any advice?

Any help is greatly appreciated!
I'd suggest you want to contact your Exchange administrator.My exchange admin doesnt know how to fix this one either. We have been working together to try and get it sorted.
The security wipe didnt help either.

thanks.Here are some DETAILED instructions. Re: MS Exchange email on blackberry 8900Have you tried connecting the phone to the BES via USB and doing it that way? It's usually quicker than doing it over the air anyway, and often more reliable.HI

Thanks for the replies - we have tried connecting the phone via USB but we still get an error stating that the BES account was not created. Im not sure if there is an issue with our actual BES server, as I am having the same problem with 3 people so far.
Our administrator has checked and says the settings are all correct.

I see. So, you have created the user's account, and then you right click on the user in Blackberry manager, click Assign device, choose the Blackberry, and then what exact error message do you get? Are all 3 people you've encountered the problem with new users?
For reference I'm using Blackberry Manager 4.1, so as it's quite old there's a chance my UI is different to yours. If so, I may not be able to help much further as I'm not familiar with any newer versions if they're different.
