Solve : Selling old computers?

Answer»

Can anyone recommend some websites for selling my used computer or computer PARTS?  I don't want to use eBay as I've never sold anything, so I'm less likely to succeed in selling something expensive.Where are you from?

OLD computer parts are in very low demand.. Do not think that you'll make huge profits by buying and selling old computer parts as people can now more easily afford high-end hardware. And they want to, as well ,since no one is interested in running Windows XP on a 233Mhz processor.some times a yard SALE is good for that a lot of people are looking for a CHEAP comp and its what they can afford to get started with
Try your local paper that people can pick it up from your house. If it's all old stuff itwould prob cost more for shipping then it's worth.

They're only about two years old.  The processor is a Pentium 4 3.2 Gigahertz.  Video card is 128 Megabyte Geforce FX 5200, it's got a gig of ram, 4 PCI slots, a functional sound card, etc.  It's a Dell Dimension 8300.  I live in the Chicago area, soon to be in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area. You'll definitely find a buyer for that.

I can't point you to any good adresses, I live overseas. You definitely have a saleable system. Don't limit yourself just to the web. Try resources that don't cost money - word of mouth is surprisingly effective. Mention it to people at work, put a flyer up in the local supermarket, tell your kids to tell their friends. (Assuming you have kids, and further assuming that your kids have friends). Failing that, a small, cheap ad in the local paper should have your PHONE ringing off the hook if the price is half-decent.What would you suggest as a price?  I was thinking around $500, as I got it for $1000 as a refurbished model about a year ago, and it was about a year old at that point. That is why I prefer websites that involve auctions. You do not really have to make up a price, people do it for you.

You should look at the hardware installed, see what it is worth on the market today now and see what it would cost if you were to buy it all new.
