Solve : Secure web site access?

Answer»

Hi all

Could any kind person tell me why I can't access "secure" pages? such as my personal MAIL page on Yahoo? ( and what, if anything I can do about it)

Also, I can't seem to run a system restore. The page opens OK but just remains blank!

I'm running XP home edition.

Thanks,

Azalian  Azalian......  If this is something that has just started ....I would reboot into safe mode and run your virus scanner .
If you have M/S antispyware Beta ....run that program also when in the safe mode .

Anti spy/MALWARE
Microsoft Antispyware
-- Anti spyware scanner. Windows XP Home and Professional only.

Using only one firewall is ADVISED. Dual firewalls may cause problems.
Using a hardware firewall and a software firewall is even more adviced.

Removal tools
The following files are not substitutes for the ones described above.
They are either diagnostic tools or removal tools for malware of a certain kind

HijackThis
-- Manual malware remover. Post the HijackThis LOG generated only if requested!
McAfee Stinger
-- Virus removal tool. No substitute for a fully functional virus scanner!
CWshredder
-- CoolWebSearch removal tool. Widely known and persistant Hijacker. Thanks dl65

I'll try that and get back to you
