when i try to search for an infected file in search files and folders it comes up not found. What part of the name am i keying in wrong. The bugs that cant be removed are in my system restore. Can anyone help me please?System restore folders/files are hidden/system/don't go there types of files.  To kill a "bug" in system restore files just disable sytem restore, reboot , then re-enable system restore.   This will wipe out all your past System Restore files and create a new one - "bug" will be gone.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/mcgill1.mspxBeverley G......First of all , I would set your hidden files to be displayed ......to do this go to your Control Panel and select Folder Options .....then click "View" now scroll down to and put a mark in the circle infront of ....show hidden files and folders ......now click APPLY and ok .....

Next .....disable your system restore feature . This will delete any previous restore files ( and the PEST along with it )

Next ......reboot into Safe mode and do ANOTHER scan for viruses and or trojans .......

Once you are certain you have no unwanted visitors.....
turn on your system restore feature ......

dl65  Thank You for trying, i did what you both suggested. I'm not SURE what happened but the bugs are STILL there. I showed my hidden files and disabled system restore then went into safe mode. Is it possible to go in manually and delete these? The antivirus i use is e-z trust. I really appriciate the help. The name i was before was Beverley G.
