Answer» Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire One netbook with a multicard reader slot on the side which has always functioned fine with SD CARDS.
However now each time I put a card into the slot I get the windows box asking if I want to upload files etc but then a blue screen apppears with writing on. This is only momentary and I have no time to read any error messages before the system shuts down completely and then reboots.
Is there anything I can do to restore this function before buying a USB adaptor for my cards?
I have tried DIFFERENT cards and always the same.
Thanks
Code: [Select]Is there anything I can do to restore this function before buying a USB adapter for my cards? No, anything that makes you PC CRASH is risky. BTW, not is a good time to review your backup plan. Windows does a good job of recovery from a crash. But one of these days it will not recover from the crash you could avoid.
Of course, if the Acer Aspire One netbook is still under warranty, you should expect Acer to fix the problem.
IMHO anybody who BUYS a notebook PC should get a three year warranty. Once a low-end laptop/notebook croaks it becomes a doorstop. And not just Acer, but Dell, HP and the rest who do the low ball disposable toy business.Try reinstalling the card reader's drive and then give it a try with an empty card, try to copy something on it!
