Answer» Hi a mate of mine said when he enters a website address into Internet Explorer. He keeps getting a message popping up saying. “SCRIPTS are usually safe to use or open do you want to let the script run?” Something likes that anyway. Any help WOULD be great. Run a trojans/worm /virus scan........try trend online scan....Virus scanners AVG Free -- Anti virus scanner Trend Micro Housecall -- Online anti virus scanner.
Anti spy/malware Microsoft Antispyware -- Anti spyware scanner. Windows XP Home and Professional only. Spybot Search & Destroy -- Anti spyware scanner Adaware SE Personal -- Anti spyware scanner
Firewalls Using only one firewall is advised. Dual firewalls may cause problems. Using a hardware firewall and a software firewall is even more adviced. ZoneAlarm Free -- Free firewall - more user friendly Sygate Personal -- Free firewall - more configuration options
Removal tools The following files are not substitutes for the ones described above. They are EITHER diagnostic tools or removal tools for malware of a certain kind
HijackThis -- Manual malware remover. Post the HijackThis log generated only if requested! McAfee Stinger -- Virus removal tool. No substitute for a fully functional virus scanner! CWshredder -- CoolWebSearch removal tool. Widely known and persistant Hijacker.Madtaz:
Also, have him check this:
1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools 2. Select Internet Options 3. In the Internet Options dialog box, select the Advanced tab 4. Remove the checkmark from the check box next to "DISPLAY a notification of every script error" 5. Make sure there is a checkmark in the check boxes next to "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)" 6. On the Security tab, select Internet and click the Custom LEVEL button 7. In the Security Settings dialog box, make sure the Enable option button is selected for "Active scripting" and for "Allow paste operations via script" and for "Scripting of Java applets" (if Prompt, rather than Enable, is selected he will keep getting the messages as he surfs the Web) 8. Click OK to save the changes and close the Security Settings dialog box 9. Click OK to save the changes and close the Internet Options dialog box
