Answer» my 18 month old daughter got a pencil and went to town on my lcd flat panel. does ANYONE know of a way to get the marks out? I used rubbing alcohol to clean the pencil off, but there are still marks from where the pencil was drug across the screen. Thanks for any helpOuch! It sounds as if you've already attempted to clean it by the methods we recommended. Unfortunately it almost sounds as if the ACTUAL screen is damaged by the marks made by your daughter, which likely means they'll be unable to be removed. Give this post a few days and see if any of the other members have encountered this issue and has a resolution or if they're able to dig anything up that could help resolve this issue. This wont resolve the issue, but as a future suggestion:
If you plan to keep a laptop in an environment that has things that fit into this scenario (whether its kids with pencils, or a place with tools in operation) you may want to CONSIDER a screen protector.
These will help with some ISSUES. If the protector is damaged, you can simply remove it, and all is well.
If someone knows the real name of these protection films, please post it. I'm afraid the flat panel is done for. You might want to consider using an old cheap glass-fronted CRT monitor until your daughter is old enough to have an allowance out of which she can PAY for replacements.
