Solve : Scanner Calibration?

Answer»

I have a CanoScan LiDE25 Scanner which adds an unacceptable AMOUNT of noise. On my last PC (800 X 600), I went into 'advanced settings' and re-calibrated it, which seemed to reduce the PROBLEM,  but not COMPLETELY. I now have changed to a new High Res laptop (1920 x 1600), and the same problem is there ... maybe worse. So I go into the same settings and all the buttons, etc are hidden, and I can't get to them to operate on them. I have changed the screen res to the old 800 X 600 and larger, but I can't access these options. I would be so grateful for any suggestions.Have you installed the latest drivers from Cannon?

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportDetailAct&fcategoryid=235&modelid=11463I have just done as you suggested, and the problem remains. I had an issue with this a month or two back when I tried to install a printer. I just could get to areas I needed to, and had to come around via another method to install it. Frustrating stuff! I suppose I can ring Canon Australia on Monday and see what they say.  :-?I've worked it out. Because of the high res screen, I had my fonts turned up larger. I adjusted that back and could get into the calibration. And now I also have the latest driver installed, which hopefully might improve the scan QUALITY as well we will see. Thanks very much for your input. copespeak,it is good to see a post solve their own problem.Good going! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
