Heather: P.S. If scandisk reports that it finds *Bad Sectors* then your hard drive is starting to die. Consider buying a new hard drive and having some geek (someone like myself ) add it to your computer and install Windows 98 on the new hard drive. He will then be able to help you copy your vital files to the new hard drive before the old one KICKS the bucket. If scandisk just finds file errors, then don't sweat it. Regards, DocIf you have a Windows '98 BOOTDISK or can boot to DOS and get a C:\> prompt then type: C:\>scandisk /all /surface , and see what happens then when you press Enter. It will take about an hour to scan your 10 GB drive. |
