My friend got a new computer and gave me his combo drive out of his computer, only he had lost the installation CD. Thinking I could find the drivers on the internet, I went ahead and installed it into my computer. But for whatever reason my computer does not recognize it. I'm not the best with computers, but I have updated my computer MANY times w/o any troubles. Could the reason my computer doesn't recognize it be because I have no drivers for it, or is it bad? He says it worked fine in his computer tho. I did find drivers off of SAMSUNG's site, but because my computer didn't think I had it installed, I couldn't install the drivers. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.It probably is not jumpered correctly. If it is a second optical drive it should be jumpered as slave (jumpers are on the back, near where the data cable plugs in). It might have MA, SL and CS as options. You want SL.

I still had some minor problems at first, but I got it all worked out. NEXT to my cd rom I try to up date drivers and it can not do it or even roll back the drivers. but it will not work I even got an external cd rom and it will not let me use it as well.
