Solve : rj11 drivers????? |
|
Answer» usually windows would just see my card but for some reason its not and I think I need a driver for it. How do I tell what I need? I'm tring to get it before this weekend if possible also I took a shot of some of the hardware from the knoppix prompt that I had used to find out some of the hardware.RJ-11 STANDS for Registered Jack type 11 (see here) usually fitted to phone connections and as such does not have a driver. If your driver problem is with a modem then you need a driver for that particular modem. usually windows would just see my card To which card do you refer? HI squall_01, Dusty is correct, you don't need drivers for an RJ-11 connector. What exactly is the problem?for some reason EVEN though I changed my modem aka rj11 like if you talk about networking people call it rj45. Any how its not seeing it in 2k when I go to MAKE a connection it says that it cant find the hardware.Quote I changed my modem aka rj11 like if you talk about networking people call it rj45 RJ-11 and RJ-45 (see here) are types of plugs/sockets for different purposes. Your modem description is not rj11, that's just the socket type which is part of the modem. In order to find a driver for your modem, which apparently is not available in the Win.2k system, you must search for a driver for your modem make/model.were do i find that? The modem make/model will be on the modem card then Google search for the driver. Major manufacturers have specific driver sites, here is one of the results of searching for "Connexant modem drivers" (without the " ") - Connexant is the chip manufacturer, the modem type will be somewhere on the modem card. Hi squall_01, How is it going, have you managed to get your problem solved yet?I attempted to try an test connection an nothing. I check to see if my driver for the modem was installed and it said that it was. I DONT know cause I entered my info and should have got it to dial. It says that the hardware failed or something I dont know. I pluged in a phone to the wall so it works. I say that this is resolved but I probably will open a NEW fourm to guide me in getting this working. Not really kind of the wireing part of the tech side. |
