Answer» When i try a nd transcode avi files the computer resests itself after about five minutes. What are your system TEMPERATURES at the time of the reset? What are your full hardware specifications?I have an intel p4 3.4ghz with 1 gig of ram running windows xp sp2 2 x 200gig ntfs hard disk. This should be more than adequate to do this. it runs games and internet stuff no problem but just turns itself off when transcoding from avi to dvd/vcd in NERO or other. its so annoying. have tried fiddlingf round with the bios but to no avail. is it a hardware prob? thanks for helping, much appreciated Quote
how do i meaqsure sys temps?Go into the BIOS. Look under the PC Health section or something similar. What type of Power Supply Unit is installed?looked in bios under pc health, does not say anything about PSU type. i SET the shutdown temp to 80C and tryed again, no luck. i tryed again in safe mode but it just turned off even quicker! it is a sudden reset, like the powers been cut or something. sorry, no what you mean now. the cpu temp was about 57C and the sys temp was at 34C.Check the events log.....control panel/admin tools.. Quote sorry, no what you mean now. Decent temperatures. The Power Supply Unit brand and WATTAGE can only be seen when you open the system case. What program are you using!used cyberlink at first, then got nero, then tried winAvi video converter. all programs end up the same, about 20% converted, then abrupt power loss. |
