Answer» hello, i copy some dll's (kernel32.dll and ntdll.dll and d3d9.dll) from system32 and then i pasted them in the WINDOWS folder so that this game could run properly. (since my system32 folder is hidden, when i try to run the game, error pops out showing all the missing dll's im missing, which all of them are in my system32...but since its hidden i guess it cant read it). oh well. so i copy and pasted it, and then when i rebooted my computer.. an eroor pops out saying..
STOP: c0000269 {Illegal System DLL RELOCATION} The system DLL Kernel32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL C:]WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll occupied an address range reserved for windwos system DLLs. The vendor suplying the DLL shou %s %s
soo.. right now i donno what to do to fix it and i hope u guys can help me on it. thanks. The system32 folder is only hidden from user view (and hidden for a very good REASON!) programs should have no problem reading the files in it. Are you able to boot up in safe mode? If you can, delete the dlls from the windows folder again. What game is this that requires these measures to run ? ?the game is called F.E.A.R.. and btw.. like i said, when i turn on the computer.. after a few seconds the error message pops out.. in blue background with white letteres.. the kind of THING that wud happen when ur computer crashes..so that means i cant even get to see my desktop or anything.. except that error message that fills up the screen
To Deerpark: do u mean that i was using a user account instead of the administrator? I don't know why FEAR didn't work for you, I own FEAR and can tell you that copying files from the system32 folder isn't going to solve anything. In fact you should never mess with anything in the windows folder, unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing. I never said anything about accounts and at this point I think you have more serious issues than getting FEAR to work. You've never stated what version of Windows you're using, but if it's XP and you got an XP install disc you can try and use the recovery console to delete the dlls from the windows folder.injn, you seem to have skipped over the safe mode suggestion. Is this an " ahem" copy of FEAR ? ?no its not a copy of fear.. ok this game didnt work for me and gave me an error message incluidng all the DLL's i need to be able to play, which are all in my system32 folder which is apparetnly hidden for some reason, specially in this computer..so i copied some of the DLL files i needed.. about 2 or 3.. and pasted them in the WINDOWS folder, so that the game can read the DLL files, since my friend told me.. (which i misunderstood, he meant for me to DOWNLOAD the DLL's and put them in the WINDOWS folder instead of extracting/copying it from the system32 folder). so then, my computer froze and i rebooted it and then the error message that i said above in my previous post popped up, therefore making my computer USELESS since whenever i turn on my computer that message pops up. (im using my laptop to write this msg btw) So.. is there any hope of fixing the computer?oh right..did i mention i cant get into windows? i guess i'll have to format my pc.Try doing a repair install of XP. But please let me stress... DO NOT copy any version of those dlls to your main windows folder. These dlls belong in the system32 folder and shouldn't be anywhere else! If your friend is telling you to do this, he is giving you very bad advice that will end you up in the same situation again. Repair Install of XP
I suggest reading it thru thoroughly paying special attention to the warnings.
Then print out a copy for reference.
Good Luck.nono.. that friend is RLY good with computers. he said the samething about nothing should leave or be removed from the system32 folder. he told me to donwload them and put them in WINDOWS FOLDER instead, which is completely harmless. anyways i wanna thank all of u for trying to help me with this problem and another friend of mine is gonna help me format the computer. thanks
