Answer» I've recently WIPED my hard drive due to numerous problems and restarted my system using the recovery discs provided. I thought that this took my system back to the state it was when first purchased. HOWEVER, since doing this I am still plagued by continuous messages advising that there is a major problem with the registry which needs to be repaires, and advising me to go to a specific website to download msregistrycleaner. Why did the registry not get loaded in its original form, and how can I resolve this problem. I have had to RECOVER the system twice as the first time I ignored these messages and the system got progressively worse.Have you done a spyware/virus search? What are the specs of your system? Make any changes (hardware or software) prior to this? For now, download Ccleaner (install without the Yahoo! Toolbar) and give the Issues part a bash, see if it comes up with anything.Thanks, I did a virus scan (Norton) and found nothing. My problem is that I thought by recovering the hard drive and thereby wiping the contents and starting again, that the system would be reverted to new settings. However, these messages appear as soon as I had started windows again. The message is from Local System to User. I've downloaded Ccleaner and used the issues function. Found a few problems which were able to be fixed by the software. However, the annpying messages still appear. Is there anything else I can do?Try running Ccleaner a couple more times, sometimes I've found that it finds more issues on a second RUN after just completing.
