Solve : Registry Repair? |
|
Answer» I've recently WIPED my hard drive due to numerous problems and restarted my system using the recovery discs provided. I thought that this took my system back to the state it was when first purchased. HOWEVER, since doing this I am still plagued by continuous messages advising that there is a major problem with the registry which needs to be repaires, and advising me to go to a specific website to download msregistrycleaner. I have a Toshiba Laptop. When I used the recover disc I selected the full recovery which said that all contents of the hard drive would be wiped. Would this have included the registry, or is there a further action I can take? Everything includes the registry. It should be back as the day you got it.Hello again. I've downloaded Ccleaner and used the issues function. Found a few problems which were able to be fixed by the software. However, the annpying messages still appear. Is there anything else I can do?Try running Ccleaner a couple more times, sometimes I've found that it finds more issues on a second RUN after just completing. Only other thing I could suggest just now is to have a read through this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545 as it gives a walkthrough on how to repair corrupted registries, only in XP though. These are probably arriving thru the messenger service....DLoad and run this little ditty....Good reply Patio! "Shoot The Messenger" is what I used after a fresh Win2000 SP4 install. The windows messenger service run me nuts till I figured out what was going on.Long see, No time...how ya been ? ? Quote from: patio on May 24, 2007, 06:36:47 AM Long see, No time...how ya been ? ?
