Answer» I have just purchased a used laptop and it works fine.
The only problem is when I am referred to a multilingul site I get the German language version... and I don't speak it.
For example, I can do a search in Yahoo (english) go to the site (English) but if I do a site search I get the German version of Yahoo or GOOGLE
It sounds confusingin but it is. No matter what thread I follow it will switch to German and stay there unless I bookmark the site and go back to it without the language suffix.
Running winXP pro sp2 with all the updates
How can I change the setting?
Thanks In Advance, Lou Check the advanced search options in Yahoo & Google, there are language things in there you can set. I wonder why that has happened to you though. Take a look at the Regional Options in your Control PANEL and make sure your Region is not set to Germany. Maybe Yahoo & Google check there before searching? (Don't mention the WAR)thanks but all are set to English
I just tried to update FRONTPAGE and was taken to the ??/(de-de) area - I changes that to (en-us) and all was ok
but why??
Thanks for the EFFORT, louOne of life's little mysteries I suppose. But I have to do it at each site
and sometimes that option is not available
oh well......Top taskbar....click view the setting under encoding should be auto select ticked.....western european(iso) is it...Auto select was not enabled but it is now.... along with Western European ISO
Will try it a and get back
Thanks, louok ......any more problems.....post back.....
