Solve : Re-doing CMOS?

Answer»

I recently started getting the message "press del to continue" when FINISHING POST in my Dell computer. I put in a new battery on the motherboard and also CHECKED time/date in CMOS. But I'm still getting the message. Anything ELSE I can do? Thanks Sy.... PERHAPS some info on what was going on before you had to replace the battery would be prudent .

dl65  Sorry. About a year ago I started getting this message. It then disappeared. About a month ago, it reappeared. As I said, I've replaced the mobo battery thinking that would solve the problem. It didn't. I then checked the BIOS to see if the time/date were correct, and they are.Other than this does the computer function normally? What make/model?It's my daughter's. It's a Dell P3 L500. It's been acting normally. One of the hints I got from the MS chat room was to check the BIOS for Halt on Error. I don't have this in the BIOS. The BIOS is Intel's.
