Solve : Re: Deleting partitions and formatting?

Answer»

Ok, that's a LOT of posts in a short space of time.
Would it not have been possible to sum them all up in one post?
What exactly are you trying to do?
And what is the PROBLEM?OK, fair enough.
I can't delete it, only mods have that power.
Besides, it's not important, I think posts are only worth deleting if they're spam or abusive.
Windows 98 cannot use the NTFS file system.
Does that answer part of your question?
You may enjoy Linux, but consider it carefully before you jump into it . . . maybe you should give a LiveCD a try.I take it you've already backed up the data from your old COMPUTER and simply WANT to format it? In that case I would start formatting/deleting partitions, but let's see what the others say.

Does the old computer already have NTFS on it? What operating system did it have?

Why don't you like Windows? A specific reason or just because it seems everyone else seems to think that way?Decide exactly what you want to do with that machine and someone will be along shortly to assist...The problem with fdisk is that you have to read the screens.Quote
