Answer» I am TRYING to route a USB device through an RDP (remote desktop) connection but am having issues with this. The device is a Phillips SpeechMike Pro. It is an audio (microphone/speak) device with an optical ball mouse. When It connects to the new device the ball mouse doesn't work but the buttons for the audio does. Any thoughts? I am ALSO connecting from an XP Pro SP2 device to a VMWARE virtual device that is also XP Pro with SP2. Any help or thoughts WOULD be great.
Thanks,
PS = Here is a link to the product I am having troubles with. http://www.dictation.philips.com/index.php?id=1425Wait a sec, so you are trying to use this device on another remote computer? That is correct. Not sure if this is possible. Have you done it before?
If so, I would try to make sure it's properly installed on the remote computer.Unfortunately I have not done ANYTHING like this before. I have done it with regular USB key storage but never a device that has multiple peaces to it such as this. I can get the audio to work but not the mouse portion of this device. It look likes a fairly complex device to use over the internet.
Just to be sure, does it even work on the other computer? (not remotely)it does work on the local device. What about on the other computer (not through remote connection, normally)Well I am connecting to a VMware Virtual device so I am not sure how I can even test it locally on that device. The drivers are installed on it and it is prepared for it.Wait, does this even work on your own computer? It does work on the local hardware device.
Sorry for the delayed response. No problem.
What I want to know though if you can run it locally on the MACHINE you are connected to. This way we can discount the possibility of the problem being Remote Connection.
