Solve : RAM- is more better??

Answer»

Hi all. New pc Tower with Intel E7300 2.66Ghz core 2 Duo, G-B EP31-DS3L P31 MB, 2x A-Data 1 GB DDR2 800 RAM, ASUS PCI-E 512MB 8400GS, SATA W.D. 500GB HDD, LG SATA 22xDVD RW (x2 two), Coolmaster box and power supply, 22" LCD SCREEN and MS Windows XP Home edition OS.
My question is would 2 more GB of RAM (2x1GB) be an advantage or not. I am happy with system and don't do GAMING. Just wondering if the upgrade of about $50 for the 2 sticks of RAM worth it. Thanks. With a 32 bit Windows OS, you can't USE more than about 3 GB so you'd be wasting one of those sticks, but at $50 you may as well do it.
Thanks for reply. The EP31-DS3L cannot handle more than 2gb of memory... Getting an extra 2gb of ram (increasing to 3gb) would not be a possibility.Quote from: michaewlewis on November 17, 2008, 11:46:58 AM

Don't go by that Kingston website. Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L has four memory sockets, accepting up to 4 GB DDR2-667, DDR2-800 or DDR2-1066 memories under dual channel configuration.
