Solve : question on windows security?

Answer»

Hi,

I've got another question here. I am not sure if i can do this with WINDOWS XP Pro.

What i'd like to do is to implement a login network which means USERS need to enter username and password to be ABLE to access to files.

What HAPPENS on my network is i have a fileserver computer( Windows XP Pro) and it's got some shared folders which anyone once on the network be able to access them without asking for anything.

Is there a way that i can set up username and password with windows XP Pro so that when anyone login to the network and like to access the shared folders on the fileserver need a password in order to access it.

Thank you in advance. If the drive the folder is located on is formatted NTFS, you have complete control who can access it.  You can also control it on FAT32 drives via Sharing.
