Answer»

I am trying to instal a Dos base program.
Window pops up....................Default drive must be write enabled.

I have no idea what this means
any help greatly appreciated

Computer

Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 1.80 GhzWhat kind of media are you trying to instal the program from?  If it's a floppy disk then write enable it...  The installer might want to write to the floppy.

Its a CD, Australian Vital Records Index.Hi sorry its The NSW Pioneers Index and its a CD

It is now saying it cannot read NSWPI.CFG.Hi

Perhaps you could create a folder on your Hard drive and copy the relevant folder(s) from the CD ONTO the hard drive, and then run the installer from your hard drive.

Alan
There's a discussion here about non functioning Pioneer cd's and the AFFECT Norton AV has, also this might help with your problem.

Good LUCKHI Dusty, thanks for the info.
The DISC's work on my other comp and it is windows xp home edition.

I just thought I would use the other comp for my personal info and research with no connection to the internet (playing safe) but I'm about to spit chips with this computer too.

Two comps and they are both a headache.

Many thanks
