Answer» Hi, My computer was sent to the shop to help get rid of a virus but ever since it came back things aren't working. For example: windows meida PLAYER, quicktime MEDIA player, yahoo games won't load, some other games including games I've downloaded since the computer came back from the shop. Here's the error when I tried to run the snes emulator that I just downloaded:
ZSNESW caused an exception c0000409H in module DSOUND.DLL at 0197:beb14fef. Registers: EAX=0000bb40 CS=8cf80197 EIP=beb14fef EFLGS=00000202 EBX=8b242128 SS=19d019f ESP=00aeef1c EBP=00aeefc4 ECX=00000fff DS=1571019f ESI=88780078 FS=4397 EDX=00000032 ES=019f EDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: c9 c2 14 00 cc cc cc cc cc 8b ff 55 8b ec 57 8b Stack dump: beb14fef 00aef000 00aeefe4 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 01f50002 00000403 7275435c 746e6572 746e6f43 536c6f72 435c7465 72746e6f
I don't understand that but maybe someone here will. most of the error files i've recieved have involved missing or not working .dll files, but I have no idea what this means of what to do about it, thanks No mention of your OS, so I can only guess. You can find out about ZSNESW at:
http://www.emulationstation.com/faq.asp?ID=2
You mention some software, windows meida player, quicktime media player that won't open. Any error messages? Perhaps the icons no longer point to the executables.
The only info I could find out was that DirectX version could be out of date. Something to check out.
Hope this helps. Thanks for replying. I'm using windows 98. I don't think its the emulator that's the problem because many programs have had similar problems. Yahoo games LOADS a blank white screen without an error message and windows media player shows this message:
WMPLAYER caused an exception c0000409H in module DSOUND.DLL at 0197:beb14fef. (very similar to the zsnes error message) Both SEEM to have something to do with the dsound.dll file. I ran a search for this file and found it in windows/system with hundreds of other .dll files. Thanks.what doees dxdiag report.......type dxdiag in the run box......what doees dxdiag report.......type dxdiag in the run box...... info http://www.microsoft.com/msj/0799/directx/directx.aspx
