Answer» HI. Can anyone tell me where to find my product key for win x.p? Not the LABEL on the bottom that’s completely worn away. I need to format and re-install to sell the machine, is it stored SOMEWHERE on the operating SYSTEM. Thanks.Don't format it. You might lose the OS for GOOD. Is the system functional? Why do you ant to format it? What make model is it? it matters. A few OEM systems do not require the product key. Some models have a way to restore the OS without the need for the normal install method. Try the best you can to read the worn out label.
