Solve : problems installing a 64 bit OS?

Answer»

I'm having problems installing a 64 bits OS on a newly build pc.
I managed to install XP 32bit without any problem, however since I've got 12Gb of RAM I need to install XP 64bit to be able to detect more than 4Gb. Everytime I TRY, I get a message that ACPI.sys is corrupted.
I've tried with 2 completely different installation CDS, I've updated the BIOS as well. There is nowhere in the BIOS where I can disable ACPI (I can only set the ACPI mode, not enable or disable it). I've tried pressing F7 when the CD boots to install as standard pc, but the only options it gives me are: ACPI multiprocessor, ACPI uniprocessor, and Other. The Other option needs a driver Floppy. I don't have a floppy drive.

Any clue of how I could work my way around this problem?

I am thinking of MAKING a new boot CD using the boot of Windows XP and the install of Windows XP x64. Could it work? What MBoard is this ? ?
