Solve : Problem with pop-ups?

Answer»

I have the worst pop-up problem I have ever had. Here's whats going on:
I have comcast high speed internet that is constantly connected. I ran my Yahoo! anti-spy and my McAfee virus scan. Both took off programs, but the pop-ups keep coming. I downloaded registry mechanic and ran that but it didn't help. I did a system restore to before this problem started, and it didn't help. I don't know what else to do. I know something is stuck somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I got a message saying that there was a problem and I tried to fix it, but it didn't help. Daily I get a blue screen of death that shuts down my computer. I'm not sure of what it says totally but its not GOOD. Any ideas of something I can download to fix it or if you have step by step instructions for me I'd appreciate it.What version of Windows? If XP do you have SP2 installed? How about running Ad Aware and Spybot in safe mode? (Both can be downloaded for FREE, just google search for them.)I am running Windows XP without SP2. I have a Dell, and when I installed SP2 on my computer it screwed it up. I will try downloading ad aware, but do I have to be in safe mode for it to work?ada WARE does not prevent pop ups

http://www.secretmaker.com/You don't have to be, but it is best to run it from safe mode. In NORMAL mode there may be files in use or processes it can't suspend, thus not able to remove some items. Quote

Should clear them up.

Also run a spy-ware/ad-ware scan.
