Answer» all the programs on my computer STOPPED opening. whenver i try to open simply programs such as paint or even the calculator a sign that says "Windows cannot open this file." and i have two choices to 1. use the WEB to find the appropriate program 2. SELECT program from a list. none of the choices work for me and this sign comes up whenever i try to open ANy program on my comp.if its winxp boot to safe mode keep tapping the F8 on boot and chose the last goog CONFIG....if its win98/winme use the scanreg/restore command at the msdos prompt
