Solve : Printer Inks? |
|
Answer» :-? I hope someone can help me with this. The ink I use in my HP printer for regular printing (graphics and such) is water soluable. Does any one know if the HP PHOTO Inks are also? If they are, is there any kind of a "fixative" to protect the photo? Thanks for the help. All HP printer inks are water soluable. All HP printer inks are water soluable. Not so. HP's Vivera inks are pigment based, moisture-safe when fully dry and fade resistant.Quote QuoteAll HP printer inks are water soluable. Not so. Read further...they use dyes...not pigments...anyway pigments are just a synonym for colors. http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/328624-0-0-225-121.html "HP uses dyes for color vibrancy because they dissolve completely in water, unlike pigments." http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/331414-0-0-225-121.html "The use of dyes, RATHER than pigments, also enables HP Vivera Inks to provide an exceptionally smooth, uniformly high-gloss finish on glossy photo papers." Though the Vivera inks offer better fade-resistance...they are still water soluable. To avoid fading and smudging, a good, fast-drying ink and premium photo paper is recommended.Oops! Sorry - APPARENTLY I have been mis-informed. Quote Oops! Sorry - apparently I have been mis-informed. No problem, Rob.... Nobody's perfect...well...I know I'm not. Quote Nobody's perfect...Really? I also found out there are SEVERAL fixatives that also help with this. |
