okay we have an hp connected to my MOTHERS and I got around to installing some of the things she had on her pc orginally. Thing is that I can run the install and stuff but the printer icon doesnt show up in the controll panel in the printer dir. Windows 2k, Dell DIMENSION 4100. Never had an issue till know.It will after you install the Drivers for it

...but if the driver is installed, the system should not ask to find a driver each time, should it?

I don't think the driver installed properly.

was thinking the same thing to so I TRIED again. STILL the same.
