Solve : PLEASE HELP me to get out of this JAM !!?

Answer»

Ok...Heres the problem,

I have a HP Pavilion, Celeron Proc computer Windows 98  I am trying to fix...I attempted to ReFormat then it stalled DUING the First CD being read...I can do  NOTHING On it...now
All I get is a Black SCREEN thats says..Invalid Disk..

I went in to the BIOS  set the Floppy as the 1st Boot...Popped in an Emergency Win 98 Start up Disk...
All I get now is... DISK I/O ERROR  Replace the Disk then press any key...

I also attempted to have it Boot from the CDROM by placing that as the 1st Boot device but it said it couldn't read Drive M?? HUH?
So I reset the BIOS to read the Floppy first, but no Luck...

ANY SUGGESTIONS??
PLEASE HELP on this Rainy Afternoon!!   :-/[glb][/glb]

THANK you!     Drive M is how it is set to boot off the recovery CD. It obviously can't read it. Is it dirty? Are all the connectors to the drive snug?Connections to the CDROM seem Ok...The light is coming on etc too...

Why wouldn't the Win 98 Rescue Floppy not be reading??

If the BIOs is set to read the Floppy 1st, then the CD ROM, then wouldn't at least One of them take the startup /recovery data??

What does Disk I/O ERROR mean??

Thanks!!You may not need the floppy at all. What if you just boot with the CD recovery disc in and set to boot from CD first?
