Answer» Hello, I know this sounds strange, but here it goes. I took a few pics today with my disk camera, loaded them into my pictures file after cropping, ETC. I deleted the originals (I thought), but everytime I look in the picture file there are more of them. I have tried deleting them one at a time, as a group, I've run my Norton Anti Virus, Spy Sweeper. I cannot get rid of them. Anyone know what's up with this? by the way, there are now about 40 copies. Marilynwhat software is used?for this camera.....The camera is an Olympus Camedia and my photo software is Serif Photo Plus.ok boot in safe MODE hold down the F8 key and delete the pic fils from there.....its late so i will ponder on this ok.....night.. For what it's worth.....I booted in Safe Mode and tried deleting the pics, but as I am deleting them a box pops up and says it is copying pictures as I am deleting. I tested other pics and it is copying all of them as I try to move them to another file or delete them.
Thanks for your help. Are you having any other problems besides this??it maybe a corupted driver thats causing this problem>>http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:ZZo8-ZpcoOUJ:www.olympus-europe.com/consumer/images/WindowsXP_en.pdf+Olympus+Camedia++downloading++problems&hl=en
I have used this camera for over a year with no problems until yesterday. I have Camedia 4.2. I have tried everything that I know of, but each time I try to delete anything from My Pictures file, it makes more copies. I don't suppose it would work to copy the original pictures to another file and then delete the current My Pictures file with all the copies. (?)reboot pc and now try to delete pics.......you could open a new folder drag the pics in and then dump it.....possiblitys are reg corupted with a trojan worm/// scan for any >>internet explorer shell damaged......is this the only problem you have .......are this saved as bmp/gifs/ etc.......does your camera have any duplicate SETTINGS in the menu??or does the software program have one?? have you tried the safemode option >>the last good config.....option....maybe a windows update has caused it..Will the following steps work for you?
1. Disconnect camera 2. Format memory media 3. Shut down computer 4. Start computer 5. Connect camera.
Does it attempt to keep copying files from your camera or another location?I've seen this problem before & I'm 'almost SURE' it was a virus. Sorry my memory ain't so good, too many computer problems to remember them all. http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
