Solve : picture in word 2000?

Answer»

I am trying to insert a picture from a web address to MS word. But i don't see any option for this, there.

in word 2000, from insert menu ---> picture

I see,the following options

clipart
from file
wordart
autoshapes
chart
from scanner or camera

What i want is to directly insert a picture from a web address. Is it possible?

Another thing i can do is to download the picture to my PC and then add. But then again when i use the word page as a web page i have to actually give the web address of the picture. That means i have to search the location of the picture in the HTML code, making things a bit difficult.

Will standard Copy & Paste not work?

Not sure, I don't use Word too OFTEN and when I do, I don't put images in... Someone else MAY be slightly more useful than me with this one Quote from: shouvik on May 22, 2007, 05:22:31 AM

Are you using Word to CREATE web pages? It's not a very good tool for web page creation; from what I've seen, it puts a lot of extra coding in the HTML file. If you have no HTML editor [I'm excluding Word here], you might try a freeware program called Nvu.

By the way, I am not ABLE to duplicate the image copy problem with Word 2003. I just placed a photo into Word from a web source via copy and paste. The photo came from >here<. But, even if you can resolve that issue, you still need the URL for the photo if you're creating web pages. Right? Another reason to try Nvu.

You should be able to right-click the image on the web page, select copy image, and then in your word document paste it. I TESTED this with Word 2000 here and had no issues with .GIF and .JPEG images.I just tried the copy and paste with Word 97, running under Win 98SE, and it also worked.Yes, I use Word to create Webpage. The problem is Not about inserting the picture in word. It is about showing the picture in the webpage, which will not show, unless given the proper web address.

I will look at NVU and see if it resolves this issue. Thanks for the help.
