I got a message saying that I had a "pest" embedded in my computer and do reboot my computer and start it in safe mode and do this command to delete it:
C:ppcleandeleteatreboot.bat

Has anyone ever heard of this? Has anyone ever done this? I'm afraid to do it. My spyware/adware found it. it also left a website http://research/pestpatrol.com/howto/safemodeppclean.asp

I still don't trust it. HELP HELP HELP! Well, first off, I would never go to that website. Then I woulld use your antivirus/spyware remover to get rid of it. You might want to try trendmicro.com and use their online scanner and remover if this does not work.Yup,

Try scanning it.
You can also try to edit that batch file and see its contents.  

Be AWARE, don't double click it.  It could be as inoccuous as a sales pitch for Pest Patrol, or something to load you down with some pests.

Danger Will Robinson, danger.If you have Pest Patrol on your system then you should do as the message asks.

I see that the link given gets a 404 not found error message.
