Solve : PCI help!?

Answer»

Hello,
My computer does not have a AGP slot. Only 3 PCI's :-/
I have a really crapy grafix card, some intel intgraded 8485G.
Is there a PCI conpadable grafix card?
That can run HIGHER end games?
Like a nvidia 5500 or better?
Or a ATI 700 or better?Ok, I found this,

Will it work??
My computer is a HP, tower.
Intel celeron 2.70 GHz
1 GIG of RAM
Windows XP home
There are a lot of cards available, some better than others. none are as fast as AGP but some are quite usable for all but the most demanding games. CHECK the system requirements for the games. 256 may only marginally better than 128 meg. RAM

Sounds like you've got a HP Compaq Presario, like me.
Contact HP support online at www.compaq.com .
They have GREAT support, and will even help you FIND a graphics card that's right for you.
(Just give them the specs of the program/game you are trying to run, and you will be helped IMMEDIATELY!)I don't have that, I have a HP pavilion a350w.
There are two problems with running high end games, besides no AGP slot:

1) HP

2) Celeron

Check for the power supply specifications. HP use adequate but small, and sometimes proprietary units.

It may be easier and better to GET another machine for gaming before sinking too much in this trying to achieve the impossible.

Pick a few games you are interested in and post back what the specs are for graphics card and processor.
When i got this I did'nt know anything about PC's.
I'll just buy a better PC.
How's that?
