Solve : PC So slow? |

Answer» My Pc is running so slow all of a sudden and i dont know why. Granted its not the fastest Pc by any means but it was running fine yesterday and now its so slow to react to even opening a song in media player or opening a file. Ive run some spyware and error fixing programs and restarted my Pc but its still really slow. Any suggestions?

The only thing i can think of is my hard drive space or lack THEREOF. I only have a 40 gig hard drive and i download a *censored* of a lot and the last few days it was down to like 400mb but i deleted files and its now bout 6 gig. I thought that hard drive space didint have anything to do with computer speed though, am i mistaken?? What scanners have you used? I have used Avast, Pc Bug doctor, tuneup uttilities and microsoft antispyware.May I advise the following scanners: AVG Free -- Excellent [free] anti-virus scanner. Registry First Aid -- A very good registry scanner. The website may look very amateurish, the SOFTWARE is quite dependable. Trial version available. Trend Micro -- Free online virus scanner. Optional: Zone Alarm Free -- Optional, but highly recommended if you have no firewall installed. Suggestions: 1. Run the scanners described above. 2. [Optional] Install firewall 3. Clean the inside of the system case. -- For more information on cleaning the computer hardware see this article. Do not forget to read through this article as well. --- Excessive dust build-up may cause fans and heatsinks to become blocked and obstruct airflow resulting in lower system performance. I think i may have fixed the error, i didnt even think to clean inside the computer, im using my OLD one for all mhy internet and downloads and it has a huge hole in the back so i think that may have been the error because of all the dust.
