Solve : PC power consumption question? |

Answer» [size=16]I have some question regarding electicity CONSUMPTION for a PC :[/size][/i][/u] 1) Does good quality monitor (i.e. monitor from a reputed company which is highly priced) consume less ELECTRICITY than a monitor from a not-so-reputed company? 2) Does reducing brightness or contrast of the monitor consume less electricity? 4) Will a defective monitor consume more electricity (say a monitor whose picture tube has become weak due to overuse) ? 4) At certain times when the PC hangs, I shut down the PC by switching it off ( not through the proper shut down METHOD). Does it affect the monitor also? In such case should i shut down the monitor switch before? 5) While surfing internet, there are times when i read or take note. that means I am not browsing pages then. Will it consume less electricity then, than while browsing? Note: Some QUESTIONS may seem stupid, but I need a reply. Depends entirely on the parts used. LCD monitors generally use less power than a CRT monitor and if they adhere to certain standards (Such as "Energystar) they will be bound to use even less energy.
