Answer» Hello there.
I just manage to score a nice desktop computer, with Windows XP SP3 in it, it's working fine, but I have my own Genuine Windows XP SP2 set up disk.
However when I tried to go into the Bios, I was stopped by Password. This does not occur when I normally BOOT up windows, only on the Bios. Which I find annoying. Like to do things myself.
Any help in this regards.
Much appreciated.
On a desktop you can usually REMOVE a BIOS password by unplugging the computer and removing the CMOS battery for a few MINUTES. Then put battery BACK and plug in and start up--you should be prompted to set the date and TIME in BIOS. (CMOS battery is a quarter coin sized, watch-type battery which should be easy to find on the motherboard.)
Code: [Select]I just manage to score a nice desktop computer How did you "score" this computer? If you bought it from the legal owner, they should be able to supply you with the BIOS password.
