Answer» Hi all,
Can any one tell me the location of the Pagefile (swap file on 9x) on XP home?
I would really appreciate this
cheersGenerally it's in the root directory of the C: drive. It has hidden and system attributes.
I still cannot find it. I looked up on the c: directory and unhided files but still not there for somereasons. Is there any WAY of ACCESSING this file at all?
many thanksWhy do you need to "access" it?
right click My Computer choose Properties select the Advanced tab click the Settings button under the Performance section select the Advanced tab click the Change button under the Virtual Memory section It will tell you what drive it is on. The file name is pagefile.sys, it will only show up if you have selected to unhide hidden and system files.
If for some reason it is corrupted then in the PREVIOUS window set it to "No paging file". Reboot the computer, go back to the Virtual Memory settings and set it back up again.
Gussery,
Thanks for your help but I tried that aready EARLIER. However, I managed to find it. I actually forgot to uncheck the Hide Protected ystem Files under the Foder Options. It is on the C: drive....stupid me
thanks guys
