Answer» I recently updated from Windows 98 to Windows XP. My computer, which I first purchased in 2002, probably has an out-dated modem. I use dial-up for the Internet and moving around is very, very, very slow and arduous. It doesn't matter what time of day I go online. I really don't feel comfortable messing with my computer's innards so I'm averse to putting in a new internal modem and I don't know if I have any empty slots left on the BACK to put in an external one. If I was to upgrade to a broadband connection. WOULD my out-dated modem STILL cause me problems?No as you would be using a totally different medium to connect to the Internet by way of an ethernet card. |
