Solve : One Dozen free e-mail services? |
|
Answer» You don't have to stick to just one e-mail ISP provided email accounts also exist but I generally advise against using them as it sort of ties you into an ISP as if you wish to switch to a different ISP you will also likely need to go through all the hassle of changing email address. That is something to consider. But, some ISPs do not close email accounts when a FORMER customer switches to another ISP. My mother was using AT&T DSL and then switched to Time Warner cable. This was over a year ago and the ATT email address still works. Many, not all, e-mails providers allow you to forward email or use an 'alias' e-mail. This is one thing to look for when selecting a permanent address for yourself. The free e-mail companies have an FAQ section but do not provide direct customer service for free accounts. If you are a business user, consider paying for extra service. The commercial users help support the cost of the free service. I still use my very first email account, the ISP was BOUGHT out and does not exist any more. Still works though. |
