When I turn on computer there is no activity (blinking lights) on keyboard or mouse, but the monitor starts to fire-up and then says power save, and shuts down, all the lights on the tower seem to indicate it is functioning OK, but hard to tell with no visual, tried other monitors, no help, had this problem a few months ago, went in and checked connections and wires and still did the same THING,unplugged computer and started looking at upgrade prices, 3 weeks later I plugged it back in for another try and everything came on as normal and worked great for 3 months, until I bought a new system, I gave the old one to a friend's little 10 year old Daughter, it was working just before I unplugged everything to take it to the friend's home but when I hooked everything up there and turned it on, now it's doing the same thing. what -up? How old is the computer?
What is the brand and model?
Can you give more general info - hard drive, RAM, PSU etc....
When was the last time you blew the computer out with a can of compressed AIR?
