Answer» I recently purchased a new Mother Board, installed the CPU, memory, etc: All STARTED up ok; but I can't get the sound to work. Mother Board: Mach Speed X-Caliber PT88AS SOCKET 478 CPU" Celeron 2.93 Memory: 1024 PC3200 DDR
PS: I checked the bios and the sound is activated: tried auto and enabled.
Any suggestions? I have ordered a sound card as a last resort!Check speakers connections/and mute option.......Check it in your Device Manager.Did all that - shows all working well - still no sound? Even re-installed drivers. If it is onboard, make certain it is enabled in the BIOS.
Also doublecheck to see if you connected the speakers to the proper connector on the souncard..Thanks, bios is enabled and using correct output. Actually, tried all three just in case it was mis-labled - still nothing - but be a bad sound card on the MB. Looks like I will need an ADDED sound card.what does dxdiag report if typed in the run box ........if this is a new mobo......have you checked that is not earthing on the case...........Did you contact the seller of the board, or the manufacturer? This is OFTEN best in the case of a new purchase.ran dxdiag, reports no errors - but still no sound. earthing? don't understandMake sure volumn control is loading at startup and nothing is set low or muted. It is generally better to set everything to max volumn in volumn control and then use the speaker controls to make adjustments.
