Answer» I got some old pcs an takeing them apart to PUT in new stuff an sell some of the old stuff for people who still use it an noticed. That there was like a sheet of foil between the cpu an the heatsink, this is a socket 5 an is I think one of the more collectable pentium cpus. But is the foil like a heatsink too or is it ment to boost the heat transfer from the chip.Never heard of anything like that myself. It may have been part of the heatsink or something. My hardware experience doesn't GO that far back if I'm honest, the earliest I've got is socket 7, just after socket 5.make sense aside from you have to be my DADS age to know.Foil inserts were used at one time but it was way before Socket 5...
